Arts in Business Award, presented to honor businesses in the Greensboro area for their leadership, commitment and vision to provide exemplary support of the arts. The award is presented by the United Arts Council of Greater Greensboro, the Greensboro Merchants Association and the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce.
2009 Winner for the Art in Business Award is Moses Cone Health System.
There are many examples of the healing power of art throughout the Moses Cone Health System, but to name just a few: At Moses Cone Regional Cancer Center, patients, staff and guests alike, can take advantage of art therapy, via the art cart that can be transported throughout the facility. In addition, the facility operates an Art Awareness program to display art and offers classes and workshops to patients. At Women's Hospital, a photography exhibit was developed to celebrate staffs contribution
and expertise, while a mural is a source of inspiration and hope to parents. At Moses Cone Memorial, live musical performances offer patients, families and staff healing through sound.
